Thank you SRN for uploading this wonderful keerthanam. I am not qualified to comment on this great performance. I can only say it gave immense pleasure to listen. No, not exactly – I was not only listening, but the music entered through every pore of me also and entered in my heart and filled with overwhelming joy! This must be bliss!!!

Should listen to the collection that has chembai and KJY doing concerts together. one of them (dont remember exactly which on it was) has an excellent competition building up during the manodharmam. In that, you will really see why KJY calls him his guru :)

There is no comparing KJY with anyone, I personally like this rendition of this song more than anyone else’s.

Inimitable Devagandhari sung by the Gana Gandharva. “Taraka naama” is sung in 4 different ways. If you want to know the difference between melody and technique, compare KJY’s rendering with his so-called Guru’s rendering of the same song, or even with the version sung by the greatest Balamurali Krishna. Both these maestros achieve technical perfection but singing with feeling, dil se is achieved only by Yesudas. That is why we call him the Gandharva.
